We’d also like to welcome the 400 high schools that are using Tutti Music Player to prepare for this year’s Jazz at Lincoln Center Essentially Ellington program! It’s great to have you join the Tutti family. We hope you are enjoying this year’s eight songs! If you are a band director interested in signing up for the free Essentially Ellington program – email us for info.

Also, we recently profiled a terrific Band Director, Theo Vernon, on our blog here. Let us know if you would like to nominate one of your favorite teacher’s for our “Teacher Spotlight” series!

Tutti School Tour: Three More High Schools, Lots More Fun

By | TUTTI, TUTTI IN THE CLASSROOM | No Comments

schooltourThe Tutti team visited three high school bands over the last few weeks: Newton South, Brooklyn High School of the Arts, and The Berkeley Carroll School. All of the schools are participating in this year’s Essentially Ellington program through Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Charles Burchell (a Tutti team member who studied at New England Conservatory, has a Masters in Arts Education from Harvard, and is the drummer in the Essential Grooves and Love Experiment Tutti collections) talked to the students about studying music in college, life as a touring musician, and the Tutti Music Player.

It was a blast to meet these music students (and their awesome band directors), hear their questions and thoughts, and watch their reaction to the Tutti Music Player.  We hope to see many of them again at the Essentially Ellington competition in May!

Would you like the Tutti team to visit your classroom? Drop us a line! kristen (at) tuttidynamics.com

Tutti at The MidWest Clinic

By | TUTTI | No Comments

MidWestWhat started as 120 music directors meeting for one day in a Chicago YWCA gym has become a gigantic four-day music conference known as The Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference. For the past 66 years, musicians and educators have been meeting up in Chicago for this huge music conference.

This year, the Tutti team is attending the MidWest music conference with our friends at Jazz at Lincoln Center. We will be signing up Band Directors with their Essentially Ellington accounts and demoing the Tutti Music Player to new schools. Come find us in the Jazz at Lincoln Center booth and learn about one of today’s most innovative iPad/iPhone applications in music education.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!

Tutti School Tour: Loyola University

By | TUTTI, TUTTI IN THE CLASSROOM | No Comments

loyolaWe had a great time presenting to Seniors enrolled in Loyola’s Music Entrepreneurship class last night. They were insightful and also visionary when discussing the most critical questions that need to be answered when building a start-up music technology company.

Clearly, they were well prepared. Their professor, Elliott Adams, is a leader in the entrepreneurial community in New Orleans and is the former CTO of CD Baby.

We look forward to watching what these students accomplish after graduation. It looks like there are some budding entrepreneurs (and some rock stars) in the group.
